My Teaching Style
I’m dedicated to facilitating positive movement experiences for everyone I work with.
We all have our own unique lived experiences that inform our bodies and our minds. I take pride in celebrating my clients’ individuality, while using a diverse set of tools I’ve developed through 15 years of studying and teaching Pilates. My clients range from active professionals working on cross-training for sports, to folks pre-habbing and re-habbing joint replacements, and lots of folks in-between.
My Experience
I first trained comprehensively with BASI Pilates (“Contemporary”-style Pilates) in 2011. After earning a comprehensive certificate, I continued studying many styles and specialties, completing courses in Pre & Post-Natal Pilates in 2012 and Pilates for Neurological Conditions in 2016. Since 2014, I have concentrated on in-depth studies of “Classical” Pilates, (the closest style to what Joseph Pilates originally taught) with esteemed teachers Jennifer Stacey, Jennifer Kries, Blossom Leilani Crawford, Sophia Thorsen, and more. I became owner of Montclair Village Pilates (MVP) in 2016.
I also support Pilates & Movement professionals through coaching, referral services, and with studio rental.
BREAKING NEWS: I’m now a certified Apparatus Maintenance Technician (Body Be Well, 2025—26). Email me for your Reformer, Cadillac or Wunda Chair maintenance needs!
Private Sessions
Private Pilates is personal training, taken to the next level.
Feedback from my clients:
“I always feel 2 inches taller after leaving here.”
“I felt more confident walking without the fear of falling.”
“My knees didn’t hurt after I played tennis this weekend.”
“I showed my partner how I could do this fancy exercise and they were very impressed!” (The exercise was Climb a Tree on the Reformer.)
If you want to make improvements in your balance, range of motion, posture, confidence level, and even your general outlook, book a private session!
If my calendar is full, please email me to be added to the wait list for Private Sessions.
Or… let me use my skills as a Movement Matchmaker to introduce you to one of my fabulous colleagues!
Group Classes
JOYFUL, ENCOURAGING EXPLORATIONS OF CLASSICAL PILATES AND MORE.
My classes are joyful, encouraging explorations that fuse traditional “classical” Pilates with my studies of contemporary Pilates, biomechanics, dance, and fitness. I truly value the lived experience of every body in the room. My job as a Movement Matchmaker is to help you find the best and most satisfying expression of each movement for your own unique self. Pilates is a SYSTEM of brilliant interconnected exercises and apparatus. So most of my classes aren’t just “Reformer”—they include “and More,”—additional apparatus and mat—so we keep adding new skills to our body/mind toolboxes.
I also believe it’s important to continue evolving, so we strive each week to build on our previous work, advancing at an appropriately & safely challenging pace.
My classes are offered on a weekly basis at the MVP Group Studio. I ask that clients commit to attending regularly. That way, we build community, momentum, consistency—and advance our practices together! Groups are limited to 7 students per class (10 in a mat class)…so it feels more like a semi-private than a standard “Group Class.” You’ll get lots of individual attention and corrections that will make an important difference in your practice.
Small Group Classes work best for healthy, non-injured bodies.
Please note, all sessions need to be booked at least 24 hours in advance to ensure preparation time.
HOW TO BOOK CLASSES
Scroll down! Log into Vagaro. Click on the class(es) you want; hit “Add to Cart.” Look for the Cart icon in the upper left. Check out!
IMPORTANT: AUTO-PAY PACKAGE HOLDERS: Don’t sign up for more classes than are on your package, or Vagaro will charge you Drop-In Rates. Please only sign up for the number of classes left on your package and wait for your package to renew (it’s usually instantaneous) before signing up for more classes.
New to Group Classes? I require at least one private session, or that you attend an Introduction to Group Pilates workshop (email for dates; signups are private.) This is vital for safety, and to ensure a quality class experience for all.
All clients must fill out an Intake/Waiver form at least 2 hours BEFORE arrival to class. This is for your own safety and so I can prepare for you. If you haven’t filled out your form prior to arrival, you will not be admitted into class.
